KVNTV 19.2
HOW THIS CAME TO BE:
In 2017, Lafayette Christian Academy embarked on a digital venture, launching a Facebook page to live stream LCA Knights Football games. The aim was to engage LCA fans, both local and distant, in the excitement of the games. This initiative was simply given the name, KNIGHTVISIONtv. Looking back at those initial episodes, it's humbling to see how far we've come. We started with no money, no budget—an old iPad, a single low-budget camera, but at least we had shaky Wi-Fi—but our passion shone through.
Over the past seven years, KNIGHTVISIONtv has undergone significant enhancements, drawing in a larger audience with each passing season. In the 2023 football season alone, we saw an average of over 15,000 viewers per Friday night game, a testament to our growth. The addition of a sideline camera and reporter marked a milestone, making it our most successful year yet.
Two months ago, an ambitious idea struck me: why not turn KNIGHTVISIONtv into a full-fledged television station, broadcasting 24/7. But where does one even begin to buy a local TV station? Certainly not on Amazon Prime! I reached out to the only person I knew who owned and operated a 24/7 family-style TV station in our area. After a few laughs at the audacity of my idea, he generously offered guidance and support to turn this dream into reality.
WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
In the weeks that followed, our vision began to pick up momentum. We recognized the profound impact such a station could have on our entire community. It wasn't just about one school anymore; it was about every high school sports team in the Acadiana Area.
